U18: Hungary comes up short against France

After opening their tournament with a 5-1 victory over the host nation Italy, Hungary took on a strong French team.

Both the players and the coaches said after their win against Italy that against France they can not start the game the same way. Despite this France took a 1-0 lead in the eight minute of play. Minutes later Máté Sárdi tied the game up at 1-1.

The next goal of the game was not scored until the 24th minute when France scored on the man advantage as they took back the one goal lead. At the midway point of the game Márk Schlekmann scored as Hungary tied the game up again. After 40 minutes of play the game was all tied up at 2-2.

In the third period started off like the first two with a goal from the French, it didn’t take long but France scored again to open up a two score lead. In the closing minutes France scored twice more as they set the final score at 6-2.
