The Hungarian Ice Hockey Hall of Fame was inaugurated in 2011 during the 2011 IIHF Division I/A World Championship. The list of first mebers conducted by the Historical Committee of the HIHF was picked from the venerable figures of Hungarian hockey life since its beginnings in 1927. The founding members were legendary figures of players, sportsmen and sport proffessionals, alltogether 22 - eleven present and eleven passed away character.

Founding members of 2011:
Dr. Pásztor György, Raffa György, Dr. Jakabházy László, Zsitva Viktor, Schell László, Mészöly András, Palla Antal, Ocskay Gábor, Kovalcsik Péter, Kovács Csaba, Ancsin János.

Posthumous: Dr. Lator Géza, Minder Sándor, Jeney Zoltán, Dr. Margó György, Hircsák István, Miklós Sándor, Háray Béla, Rajkai László, Boróczi Gábor, Leveles György, Jr. Ocskay Gábor.
 

The Historical Committee continoued its work and given the opportunity, every year the list grows with 2-2 inductee.
