Hungary start the game off well as Zsombor Filep opened up the scoring with a goal in the fifth minute of play. In the last five minutes of the period both Levente Gáspár and Ferenc Kozma found the back of the net as Hungary took a 3-0 lead into the first break.
Hungary continued in the second period where they left off in the first period, Mark Schlekmann scored the fourth Hungarian goal. Slovenia got on the scoreboard when they scored on a two man advantage to make it 4-1.
The third period started with a Hungarian goal as Levente Keresztes put Hungary back up by four goals. Balázs Varga tacked on a sixth Hungarian goal. In the end Béni Halász stopped 95% of the shots faced with Márk Schlekmann finishing with one goal and three goals.
