Head coach Glen Williamson and his staff have announced the 23 man roster that will be playing in the MACs tournament in Calgary and the two roster that were announced for the Budapest tournament with be playing in the Tüskecsarnok between December 27th and the 30th.
The squad going to Calgary will be leaving Wednesday the 19th at 06:30 in the morning with 3 goalies, 6 defencemen and 14 forwards. In the group stage Hungary will be facing the Calgary Royals, Fraser Valley Thunderbirds, St.Albert Raiders and the Tisdale Trojans between December 26th and the 30th.
In Budapest the two Hungarian rosters will be playing the U18 teams of Ukraine and Poland. The coaching staff has decided not to take four U18 players that played up on the U20 national in the World Championships last week. Dávid Pokornyi, Nátán Vértes, Marcell Révész and Kristóf Papp will be able to rest a bit as they can have a strong rest of the season as they prepare for the U18 World Championships.
Márton Vas, assistant coach: The main goal of the program is for everyone to be able to play on the international stage. We are trying to take the strongest team to Canada, we looked at the players match fitness and their hockey knowledge. It is getting harder and harder to pick the final roster, the pool of players is getting deeper and deeper every year.
