Not everyone could make it to the practice session, this being said there were over 2000 Hungarian national team matches represented on the ice. The 14 players in attendance were split into two teams and played 3 on 3 hockey with a goalie in each net. Levente Szuper was defending one cage with Krisztián Budai the other one.
“It was good to be back on the ice, some of us had to sake some rust off but we had a good time and that's what is most important.” Bence Svasznek after the practices session, he also mentioned that we was missing he D-man partner Tamás Sille on the ice, but he knew that he was coaching his own team and could not make it.
After the light hearted game that the “white team” won, two of the forwards from the “red team” did not agree on why they had lost. “It felt great to be back on the ice but unfortunately Mogyi lost the game for us.” said Imre Peterdi with a smile. “The time has passed us by and it was hard to get going. This is where we can see how fast the sport of ice hockey really is. Now we hope that we will be able to win on the 30th.” Gergely Majoross countered this, “I don’t feel that I lost the scrimmage, we defended well, but the white team got considerably weaker once Palkovics joined them but they won a close game.” When asked if he missed playing hockey it sounded like Majoross is happy where he is. “It was horrible to be back on the ice but it was great to hang out with the boys. I do not miss the hockey but the guys I miss alot.”
Márton Vas seamed to have similar feelings about the practice as everything went well except for the following… “right now we were missing was the endurance, the skating, the stick handling, the vision and the goal scoring. Everything else is perfectly in place.”
All in all it was all fun and games for these guys, there was laughing and cracking jokes. Also playing today was Balázs Kangyal, András Horváth, Csaba Kovács, Dr. Viktor Szélig, Krisztián Palkovics, Viktor Tokaji, Balázs Ladányi and Tamás Gröschl.
