Next Year’s World Championships are set

The IIHF has decided during their congress at the A-Pool World Championships where all of the World Championships for the 2019-2020 season will be held.

The Hungarian senior national team will playing the Division 1/A World Championships in Ljubljana, Slovenia where they will be taking on Austria, France, Korea, Romania along with the host nation Slovenia. The World Championships will be held between April 24th through the 30th.

During the February international break the men’s national team will be playing in an Olympic Qualifying Tournament as they will be traveling to Great Britain between February 6th through the 9th to take on the host nation, Estonia and a team that will be qualifying into the group after the December international break. The winner will move onto the next round of the Olympic Qualifying process.

The women’s senior team who won promotion to the A-Pool this past season in Budapest will be traveling to Halifax, Canada. The teams that will be participating in the tournament will be the United States, Canada, Finland, Russia, Switzerland, Japan, Germany, Czech Republic, Denmark and Hungary. The World Championships will be held between March 31st and April 10th.

The men’s U20 national team will be traveling to Kiev, Ukraine to take part in the Division 1/B World Championships where they will be taking on France, Poland, Italy, Ukraine and Estonia. The tournament will go from December 10th through the 17th.

The men’s U18 Division 1/B World Championships will be held between April 12th through the 18th in Asiago, Italy. The teams that the Hungarian U18 national team will be taking on are Ukraine, Austria, Italy, Slovenia and Poland.

The Women’s U18 Division 1/A World Championships will be held in Fussen, Germany where the girls will be competing against Japan, Germany, Italy, Denmark and France between January 3rd and the 9th.
