Last day off before the end

The Hungarian national team went through a similar practice as they did on the previous off day, when the team was put through short practice that concentrated on getting the legs moving.

All the players hit the ice today except for  Bálint Magosi who is out with an injury and Csanád Erdély who did an off ice training session. The day after the lose to Slovenia the players were concentrating on move on and looking to their next game which will be against the host country of Kazakhstan.

István Terbócs, forward: With two forwards on our line, we always had some else going with us, this is not necessarily a problem. Everyone knows where they should be, everyone knows each other and everyone has played with everyone in the team. There were no surprises when there was someone new as the third forward in the line. I played mostly on the right wing but if a right winger was the new player than I had to move over to the left side. There is not much of a difference on which wing I play on, only where I have to put my stick.

János Hári, forward: It did not make a difference from the rest point of view that I did not play since we had an off day today. Everyone had a day off as well, we knew that we would be playing five games in seven days, however I was not planning on playing one less. For me I can’t tell if that extra day help my mental freshness, I am sure it did some how. It did hurt that I was not able to help the team yesterday in the game. You want to be be with the team in the good and the bad. It was not a great feeling watching the team from the seats.

Tamás Pozsgai, defenceman: Up until now after every game we said that we need to forget about the last game and concentrate on the next one. We had an off day today, but we still sometime have it the back of our minds what happened. It is hard to forget but we need to stay strong and stick together and get the job done tomorrow. Today again we needed to move the legs but we did not go over nay tactical elements.

Scott Macaulay, defenceman: It helps a lot to be familiar with your defensive pair. It is great to have that chemistry with a guy that you know where he will be on the ice and you know what to do. At this level everyone plays great and they are good hockey players. Everyone can play with each other and can feed off of each other. It is nice to know that you have a connection anywhere. There are certain situation in a game where you know through habit where they will be and what they will do. It makes it easier when I am going back to the puck that I know his voice and I know what to listen to, I know his calls of what I should be doing. In situations like that we can use the experiences that we have together.
