The head coach of the Kanada Magyar Hokiklub’s women's team has been named the head coach of the Hungarian national team. The 52 year old coach will also work as a mentor coach with the U18 national team.
Risku has worked with multiple teams in his native Finland both as a head coach and assistant coach. He was the head coach the past three seasons for the FInnish Women’s U18 national team.
Hungarian women's hockey has been continually improving both the national team and the club teams as well. This change will give momentum for the upcoming DIvision 1/A World Championships that will be held on home ice and also the opportunity to qualify to the Winter Olympics as the number of teams participating in the Olympics will be jumping from eight to ten.
