
For the second game of the tournament Pat Cortina and his coaching staff stuck with Anikó Németh with Stephka Nehring serving as the backup goalie. There was also one change in the lines as Lili Pintér and Míra Seregély switched spots. The game started off better for Hungary as they tested the Slovakian goalie. Hungary had an early power play that they were able to take advantage of as Alexandra Huszák scored from long distance as Hungary had a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute of play. Later in the period Hungary had another power play, this time Lottit Odnoga and Huszák had shots on net but the puck did not cross the goal line. At the midway point of the period Hungary had a two man power play but the Slovak goalie shut the door. The penalties kept on coming on both sides but neither team was able to convert on their power play chances.
The second period started with a Hungarian chance as Slovakia had another penalty. Slovakia started to look stronger. In the 25th minute it looked like Slovakia had tied the game up but the goal was disallowed as the puck was kicked in.
The picture of the game did not change in the third period. In the 46th minute Fanni Gasparics had a breakaway but hit the post, the score remained 1-0 for Hungary. On the ensuing rush Slovakia tied the game up at 1-1 when Korenkova scored from close range. The score stayed tied throughout the end of regulation. In overtime neither team scored and the game went to a shootout. During the penalty shots Klimasova missed and Nooren’s shot was saved, in the second round Hlinkova scored with Dabas scoring for Hungary. Rumanova also scored but Gasparics was not able to beat the goalie. Kubekova scored which meant that Hungary needed to score to stay alive and Huszák did. For the last pair of shooters Cupkova missed on her shot with Kiss-Simon scoring to for sudden death in the shootout. Huszák was not able to score and the Hlinkova shot slipped through as Slovakia took two out of the three points.
