Hungary took on Austria in their second game of a back to back series with the games being played in Székesfehérvár and Vienna. Hungary took the first game on home ice by the score of 4-3 in overtime.

Austria-Hungary 1-3

Jarmo Tolvanen and his coaching staff gave Dávid Duschek the start in net with Miklós Rajna serving as the backup. Mátyás Odnoga, Márk Szaller and René Léránt were in the line up, Szaller and Léránt were making their national team debuts. Missing today's game was Ferenc Kocsis, Áron Reisz and Bence Szabó.

At the start of the game it looked as if both teams were waiting for the other team to make the first move, based off of what they saw the night before. Both teams had shots on net but no real scoring chances were created. Hungary killed their only penalty of the period. Hungary broke the deadlock with just under two minutes left in the period as István Sofron put home rebound off of a long shot from Dániel Szabó.

Early in the second period Hungary looked like the strong team as they were able to break into the Austrian zone on a number of occasions. However Austria had a couple of chances as well but Duschek was on the spot to make the save. Hungary opened up a two goal lead when János Hári had a shot on net that the Austrian goalie David Madlener saved but Attila Németh was on the spot to flip the rebound in. Later in the period Austria got back with in one goal when Stacha scored from just outside of the crease in front of Duschek. Less than a minute later Németh struck again, this time he took a pass in his own end and went coast to coast and slipped the puck past the goalie for the breakaway goal.

In the third period Hungary looked like the more dominant team however Duschek had to make a few saves as well. The Hungarian defence stood tall throughout the third period. Jarmo Tolvanen shuffled the defensive pairings in the third period. As the game started to come to an end the Austrians pulled their goalie for the extra attacker, but it didn't matter as Hungary closed out the game with a 3-1 win.
