DVTK and MAC advance to Hungarian Cup Final

Diósgyőr defeated Dunaújváros in a goaltending battle that went to overtime. This will be the third appearance in row in the finals for club from Miskolc with MAC playing for the first time after they easily defeated Debrecen

DVTK-DAB 1-0 OT
The visitors went with Dávid Duschek between the pipes with Diósgyőr starting Attila Adorján. This game was a real defensive battle from the start of the game as Adroján and Duschek went save for save against each other through the sixty minutes of regulation. There were power play chances for both sides but again the penalty kills was working for both Dunaújváros and Debrecen. Late in the third Pete Sakaris and Keegan Dansereau were both thrown from the game. After a scoreless regulation where the game went into overtime. Bálint Magosi scored the game winner in overtime.

MAC-DHK 5-1
 
The home team went Bence Bálizs in net with Debrecen countering with Dávid Gyenes. Debrecen took a 1-0 lead when they caught MAC on the change, Jesse Schultze setup Jared Brown for the breakaway goal. Minutes later Gergő Nagy set up Sean Escobedo for breakaway of his own to tie it up at 1-1. In the final minute of play in the period Bronson Kovács sent a frozen rope across down low to Krisztián Nagy who centered it to Erik Keresztury who taped it in for the goal and the lead. In the second period Krisztián Nagy backhanded the puck off of the post to give MAC a two goal lead. Csaba Kovács made it 4-1 when he skated in and ripped an absolute rocket from high in the slot. The goal forced Debrecen to make a goalie change as József Pleszkán came in for Gyenes. Balázs Somogyi made it 5-1 late in the second period. MAC held on to the 5-1 win.
