Detva takes opening game on home ice

In the first game of the 2019-20 Visegrád season Detva defeated Poruba on home ice by the score of 3-1.

The home team had Roman Petrik in net with Frederick Foltan between the pipes for the Czechc team. Interestingly Detva had three import players, two of them from the Czech Republic with the Czech team having two imports, with both of them coming from Slovakia.

The two teams exchanged goals in the first period as Detva made it 1-0 in the minute of play with Poruba tying the game up with a goal from Tomas Jachym. Detva pulled away in the second period with the third scoring coming in the final minute of play in the middle period.

In the end Jan Sykora finished the game with a goal and an assist with defender Frederik Fekiac setting up two goals.

The Visegrád Cup with be back on the ice on the 16th with the first Polish derby of the cup.
