U17 Hungary-Norway 0-1
After giving up a one goal lead late in the game Hungary was back on the ice for the second game on Friday. Head Coach Rastislav Ondrejcik gave Bendegúz Horváth the start in net with Béni Halász serving as the backup. The first period brought a balanced game where both teams had scoring chances. Just as Hungary had killed a penalty Norway found the back of the net off of a counter attack to go up 1-0. In the second period Norway pinned the Hungarian team in their own end, however Horváth made a number of big saves to keep the game at one goal. Bálint Mesterházy and Kristóf Rétfalvy had scoring chances in the period, but were denied. Towards the end of the period András Horváth and Ádám Falus had chances as well to tie the game up, but the Norwegian goalie made a number of key saves. Early in the third period a Krisztián Kónya breakaway opportunity was denied. Horváth had to make a flurry of saves to keep it at a one goal game in the middle of the third period. Late in the game Norway put pressure on the Hungarian net, but the defence stood tall. In the end Hungary was unable to put one in the Norwegian goal. Bendegúz Horváth was named the player of the game for Hungary.
Máté Arany, assistant coach: We were a bit tired both mentally and physically as well. It was great that we were able to keep them to only one goal and we managed to create chances. The forecheck worked today and we were able to disrupt the Norwegians game. However we need to play better in our end of the ice, we need to be tougher. Just like yesterday today we had a great performance in the net.
Bendegúz Horváth, goalie: There was a hard battle from start to finish in the game, we were still asleep in the first period, however we managed to get our legs moving soon after. We worked hard all throughout the game. The team in front of me work hard and I want to thank them.
