The coaching staff have decided to go with Dávid Kovács in net with Martin Szeles in the lineup. Nátán Vértes will be back in the lineup after sitting out the 3-2 loss to Ukraine on Thursday.
With Vértes back in the lineup, Mihály moved up to the first line and Vértes taking his spot on the second with Révész and Papp. Third line stayed the same, with Dézsi moving to the fourth and Alex Kovács being the 13th forward. On defence the pairings will be Kiss and Fejes, Sándor and Vas, with Bugár playing with Seregély.
The country of the rising sun will be coached by Teruhiko Okita, a long time coach in the Japanese youth system. Okita has been on either the U18 or U20 national team coaching staff since the 2010-11 season. Japan has brought two goalies, enight defencemen and 12 forwards to the tournamnet. The roster has eight players born in 1999, six in 2000 and eight born in 2001. The majority of the players are playing in the Japanese high school league and the university league with Tohi Kobayashi making his debut in the Asian League this year. They have three forwards that play outside of Asia, Chikara Hanzawa plays in Sweden for the U20 team of Falu IK, Keitaro Yasuda is proficient scorer for the Connecticut Chiefs of the EHL and Sho Takai is a Canadian born players who attends Notre Dame Academy in Saskatchewan.
Márton Vas, head coach: The issue that we might have with countries like Japan is that we do not have much information about them. They are pretty far away from us for be able to see them play and scout them. Last season at the U18 World Championships we faced them. They were a small but aggressive team, we want to take advantage of our strength and to make smarter and better decisions than they do.
