2019.04.11. 11:12 |
The Hungarian U18 National team played an exhibition game against the Vasas ERSTE Liga team. Following the game the coaching staff cut the roster by two players.

Head coach Bence Svasznek and his coaching staff decided to give Roland Farkas the start in net with Béni Halasz replacing Farkas in net at the halfway point. The coaching staff decided to dress two goalies, eight defencemen and 13 forwards, meaning that the coaching staff dressed one extra player than usual.

Vasas took a 3-0 lead after the first period, thanks to two power play goals. In the second period Márk Schlekmann made it 3-1 after scored off of a pass from Levente Keresztes. In the closing minutes Vasas added an empty net goal for the 4-1 win.

After the game the coaching staff let go of goalie Béni Halász, defenceman Botond Farkas and Bálint Monár. This leaves the team with two goalies, eight defencemen and 14 forwards for a total of 24 players. The staff still needs to cut two more players before the start of the Division 1/B World Championships in Székesfehérvár. The roster has five teams represented with two players coming from Austria and two from Switzerland and one each from Sweden, Finland, Germany, Czech Republic and Slovakia

Bence Svasznek: The game started hard for us since a number of guys have not played in a long time since their season had ended earlier. We got three interesting goals which were all scored from close range, our defencemen did not play the best. This way we got down early, we did not play that well. We started to play better in the second and third period. After a very weak first period we were able to get ourselves together for the second and third period.
