The national team starts week in Miskolc

Jarmo Tolvanen and his coaching staff have put the players through two intense on ice training sessions with the strength and conditioning coach also working the team out in two off ice sessions. During the week the early part of the week the coaching staff is trying to find the balance of shaking the weekend rust out of the legs with also putting an emphasis on the tactics and systems along with preparing for the two games against Poland.

Jarmo Tolvanen, head coach: This week we will go step by step, day by day. We will be working on the details in our system and concentrating on having two good games. We have 24 skaters once Galló gets here so we are trying to see where what individual fits. We have been working on a number of line combinations.

Kristzián Nagy, forward: This was a more intense practice than we had last week, we had a stronger off ice session as well and then Jarmo really worked us out today. The plan was to shake off the two days rest with the rest of the week the tactics being in the forefront.

Kevin Wehrs, defenceman: It is good to be back with the team, I am very excited to see the guys again. I had about seven days off after the season ended. I did feel the workout now, but it feels good, it is very refreshing and get a good workout it. Itis like a reset button.

Bálint Magosi, forward: It is always good to be playing on home ice, I am sure the Miskolc fans will be happy to see the six local players playing in the national team and of course how we play against Poland. I am used to the locker room and all the familiarities here, it is always good to be at home.
