Preview against Poland

2019.04.10. 12:08 |
The Hungarian national team will be taking on Poland tonight at 18:30 in Miskolc as the team takes their next steps in the preparation process for the Division 1/A World Championships.

Jarmo Tolvanen and his coaching staff made changes to the lineup with a couple of new players being added. Getting the start in net will be Miklós Rajna with Bence Bálizs serving as the backup. Not playing will be Ádám Vay, Zoltán Hetényi, János Hári, István Bartalis and Dániel Kiss. The captain for the game will be Bálint Magosi with János Vas and Bence Szirányi as the assistant captains.

The Polish team is a long time rival of Hungary as they played a number of times the past few years. The last time the two teams played Hungary won the game at the Division 1/A World Championships. The current roster that Poland is made up of players playing in Poland except for three players. There are two playing in the German third division with Alan Lyszczarczyk playing in the OHL. The Polish league playoffs are still going on, therefor a number of players are missing for Poland.

Zoltán Szilassy: The goal is still to see the elements that we have been practicing to be seen on the ice in the game. The lineup will be different than the one we had against Sweden, different players can show what they can do and we can see in what condition they are in. We will really be able to see this in the special teams. Poland is a familiar team for us, but they are coming with a younger team as the playoffs are still going on for them. They will be working hard and this will not be an easy game for us. Athletes always want to win but we will continue to concentrate on our own game.
