Nitra takes first leg of the Semi Finals

Nitra got past HC RT Torax Poruba in the first leg of the Visegrád Cup semi finals.

Frederik Foltán got the start in net against his former team, Nitra with the visitors going with Miroslav Hanuljak in net. Nitra killed a Karol Csányi tripping call, which they quickly followed up with a goal from Patrik Koys as Samuel Bucek picked up the assist. Later in the period Poruba tied the game up as Jan Hudecek found the back of the net. WIth less than half a minute left to play in the opening period Lane Scheidl was set up by Samuel Rácz for the second Nitra goal of the game.

In the second period Marek Slavik tied the game up just before the midway point of the game, however Nitra was able to answer back later in the period with  Bucek goal. 

In the third period Nitra had a chance to pull away as Poruba picked up three separate minor penalties but the score remained the same. In the last five minutes of the game Poruba almost had two straight minutes of 5 on 3 hockey but they were unable to score. With less than a minute to go in the one score game Bucek scored his second goal of the game as Nitra took the game 4-2. 

The second leg of the semi finals will be played on the 19th at 18:00 in Nitra, with the winner moving on to the Visegrád Cup Finals where they will take on JKH GKS Jastrzebie.
