JKH GKS Jastrzebie are Visegrád Cup Champions

With JKH GKS Jastrzębie and HK Nitra playing a 2-2 draw in the second leg of the Visegrád Cup finals the Polish side were crowd cup champions thanks to a one goal win in the first leg.

JKH GKS Jastrzębie-HK Nitra 2-2 (5-4 on aggregate) 

The home team went with Ondrej Raszka in net with Nitra playing Miroslav Hanuljak between the pipes. Both teams had power plays early on in the game but neither of them were able to score on the man advantage. In the closing minutes of the first period there was a bit of a skirmish was three-three players were sent to the penalty box for roughing.

The opening goal of the game was not scored until the third minute of play in the second period as Adrian Sloboda scored off of a pass from Branislav Kubka to give Nitra the 1-0 lead and to tie the series up at 3-3 on aggregate. Nitra picked up back to back penalties but they managed to kill both minors. Just past the midway point of the game Mitch Versteeg set up Samuel Bucek for a power play goal to put Nitra up 2-0 in the match and a one goal lead in the series. Nitra would have some problems with penalties in the second half of the period which Jastrzebie took advantage of as they scored a goal on the 5 on 3. With one second left in the period Maciej Urbanowicz found the back of the net to make it 2-1 and 4-4 in the series.

In the final period of play Jastrzebie continued where they left off in the second as they tied the game up on a goal by Martin Kasperlik again on a 5 on 3 to make it 2-2 and a one goal lead in the series. With just over two minutes left in the game Nitra pulled their goalie in an effort to tie the series but they were unable to score. With the game tied at 2-2 and Jastrzebie with a 5-4 lead on aggregate they won the 2019-2020 Visegrád Cup.
