After winning on Wednesday 2-1 in a shootout against Poland, Hungary followed this up with a 4-2 win against Poland in the second game in Miskolc.

Jarmo Tolvanen and his coaching staff gave Zoltán Hetényi the start with Ádám Vay serving as the backup, not playing were goalies Miklós Rajna and Bence Bálizs as well as defenceman Tamás Pozsgai and forwards István Bartalis and János Hári.

Right from the start of the game Hungary created traffic in front of the Poland net. Early on Sarauer had a long shot that just missed the net. Throughout the first half of the first period Hungary was a lot more active in the offensive end. Bodó had great chance on a centering pass but he was taken down just as the pass arrived. On the ensuing power play Hungary put shots on net, this paid off as Csanád Erdély stuffed home a bouncing puck to make it 1-0 for Hungary. As the period went on Hungary continued to be the stronger team. Late in the period Hungary had their second power play of the game, during the two minutes they kept the Polish goalie busy but they were unable to score. In the early part of the second period Hungary was on the power play again, however no goal was scored. Later in the period István Terbócs broke in on net and was taken down, Hungary was not able to follow this up with a power play goal. With just under nine minutes left in the period Poland called timeout. As the period went on Poland was not able to create any offense since they were spending most of their time in the penalty box. It was clear that in the second period Hungary controlled the game. With less than two minutes left in the period Pas from Poland picked up 5+20. Not even a minute later Hungary had a 5 on 3. In the closing seconds Hungary had a great tic-tac-toe play set up, but they were not able to cap it off with a goal.

The third period started off with Hungary taking advantage of the two extra players as István Sofron used a screen to put the puck into the back of the net. Hungary was not able to score one remaining time left on the five minute power play. Compared to the second Poland was more active in the offensive end. On their first real scoring chance of the game Poland scored as Alan Lyszczarczyk took a pass in the slot and one timed it past Hetényi to make it a one goal game. Less than a minute later Poland tied it up at 2-2 as Neupauer scored from the left face-off dot. The game did not remain tied for long as Arnold Varga took a shot from the blue line that ended up behind the goalie to make it 3-2. With just over five minutes left to play Hungary was back up by two goals as Chris Bodó redirected a Kevin Wehrs shot for the power play goal. In the end Hungary picked up the two goal win.
