Youth Program National Team Coaches Announced

The Hungarian Ice Hockey Federation has named three young coaches to be the head coaches in the Hungarian youth system. Márton Vas with be the head coach of the U20 national team, with Bence Svasznak being charge of the U18 and Péter Mayer coaching the youngest age group, U16.

Gergely Egri, Jarmo Tolvanen and Jim Brithén recommended the three coaches to the technical committee and the HIHF presidential board.

One of the most important criterias for the three positions was that the coach be Hungarian and not to be associated with any Hungarian club, the coaches are expected to communicate well and to have the needed experience. The goal is for the Hungarian coaches to have the opportunity to gain quality experience.

The staff members will be recommended by the coaches and approved by the technical committee. Jim Brithén and Jarmo Tolvanen will be working as  advisors next to the three coaches.
