U20: Hungary has first practice in France

Meribel and Courchevel, which are located in the Alps near Italy will play host to the DIvision 1/A World Championships this year. Hungary flew to Geneva on Friday and then took a bus to Meribel which is right in the middle of the ski center of France.

Hungary will play all their matches in Meribel except for two, which will be against Germany and Kazakhstan. The Meribel arena was built for the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics, which has been renovated to fit 2,400 people, Courchevel is about a 30 minute bus ride from Meribel.

The boys hit the ice this afternoon for a one hour practice where the main goal was to get the legs going after the long trip.

Dávid Molnár, forward: It felt great to be back on the ice after almost 48 hours, the first couple drills were a bt tiring and the legs were slow but by the end we got things going and we had a good fast paced practice. Everyone is very excited to play the first game against Latvia. They are a team who last season was in the A-Pool World Championships. It will be a hard game but we want to show them that we belong here.

Dávid Kiss, assistant coach: We have been traveling for a long time and finally the guys had a chance to be on the ice. We had a fast paced 50 minute practice to get the blood flow into the legs. We have not really concentrated on the opponents yet, we will do that tomorrow.
