The U17 held its first camp of any kind since their three game series against Norway, that was played in the middle of August.

Rastislav Ondrejcik and his coaching staff opened up the two day mini camp with 41 players who were put through on ice and off ice practice sessions. The coaching staff also covered systems and tactics theory in a classroom environment.

The players were put through physical tests, before hitting the ice for an hour and a half where they rotated through stations on the ice where they were able to develop a different skill at each station. In the afternoon there was an hour ice session as well.

Head Coach Rastislav Ondrejcik: We are trying to give everyone a chance but also trying to see where everyone is right now. We are trying to work together with the U18 with the best players moving up to that age group and having a chance to play at the World Championships. We are working on technical skills that they can then take back to their teams and they can work on it there. This is a chance for them to develop and play at a higher level, we can instill a work ethic in them as well. They have a chance to learn new concepts and to learn new things as well.
