U16 Open Camp for Billa Cup

After the U20 national team opened camp earlier in the month the following age group was the U16 who had a two hour on ice practice session before noon with an hour long one in the afternoon.

Not being able to attend the training camp was Gergely Jenőfalvi, Tamás Ortenszky, Nándor Banga, Ádám Érchegyi, Kristóf Horváth and Dávid Kadarkúti.

“The U16 season officially started today, we are not in an easy situation because aside from a few players it is a completely new group of players for me. Csaba Virág is the only one on the staff that has worked with this players in the past in the national team program. Todays three hours on the ice and tomorrow's morning practices was and will only be an inter squad scrimmage. We will try to see where everyone is and to put the best squad together for the tournament in Prague. Everything looks good so far, the players are ready to work and there is depth to choose from. We can still see that it is early in the season but it is nothing that we can not fix.” said Head Coach Bence Svasznek at the end of the opening day.

The team will be back on the ice tomorrow for another long ice practice with the roster being cut down to 20 skaters and 3 goalies. The final roster will have one last afternoon practice before leaving for the Billa Cup in Prague on Wednesday.
