Bence Stipsicz was one of the national team players at the “Big Sports Fair” an event where kids can try out different type of sports and to see what they might like to play. We caught up with Bence and asked him to review this past season and to give a hunt at what the future may hold.

What do you think about this event?
There are a lot of kids that have come out and there is a tremendous amount of sports that are represented here today, including a number of lesser known ones. This is a great opportunity try new things and the environment is great as well. I think the  Hungarian Ice Hockey Federation has done a great job and I hope that a number of kids start to play this sport.

You have finished up a very long season both with your club team and you national team as well. How did the season go for you?
My season in the USHL was a mixed bag for me, the team did not really have a successful season however the league is a very strong and competitive league. As I player I improved tremendously which is great and I hope I will be able to take what I learned this season on to my adult career. The Division 1/A World Championships did not go the way we had planned, the pucks didn't bounce our way it was as if think worked to our advantage throughout the tournament. We did not have any problems with our motivation, everyone worked hard but things just didn't go our way.

What did you think when you found out the 2017 Division 1/A World Championships will be held in Budapest?
I have a loss for words, my first senior national team game was in the Budapest Sports Arena during the Olympic Qualification Tournament, it was great feeling to play in front of such a large crowd. I am sure that  the fan support will be great in the arena.

The rest is over and you are starting the offseason preparations for the upcoming season, where will you be next season and what are your goals?
I would like to play at the highest level possible for next season, I don’t know where that will be at this time. Either way I want to play somewhere where I will become a better player. With my team I will want to get as far as possible in the playoffs, and I want to make the national team for next years World Championships. We would like to make up for this past year’s World Championships on home ice.
