Rudolf Kéri has passed away

Rudolf Kéri passed away on April 30th, the former Dunaferr, Alba Volán and senior national team equipment manager and “Sapporo Hero”.

Rudolf Kéri was born on May 18th, 2018 and started playing hockey as a goalie for Dunaújvárosi Kohász in 1973. He worked his way up through the youth system but had to hang up the skates in 1979. In 1995 his friends talked him into getting back involved, and started to play amateur hockey again. In 1998 after getting to know him the then Dunaújváros management offered him a job as the equipment manager.

Through the help of Lajos Takács and Sonny Lundvall he went to Sweden to learn under the hands of Björn Lidström about the art of being an equipment manager.

He first joined the national team in 2002 and would go on to be a staff member for the next 12 seasons. He was a member of the 2008 team that won promotion to the A-Pool in Sapporo, Japan. He worked for Fehérvár AV19 between 2005 and 2017.
