After picking up the win against Italy on Saturday, Hungary will be closing out the EIHC Tournament in Katowice, Poland against the host nation of Poland.
Hungary and Poland are very familiar with each other, at least the players are. However both head coaches took their respective national teams at the start of this season. Jarmo Tolvanen and Hungary took the first game at the László Papp Budapest Sport Arena, in November Ted Nolan and Poland took the second game at the Tüskecsarnok.
For the second day in a row the game day skate was optional, goalie coach Tamás Farkas worked with goalies Miklós Rajna and Dávid Duschek. Also on the ice were the four players that did not play the day before, Tamás Pozsgai, Bronson Kovács, Péter Vincze and Brance Orbán. Attila Pavuk, Mátyás Odnoga, Zsombor Garát, Nilan Nagy and Dániel Kiss were also on the ice for the session.
Andrew Sarauer is missing the game because of illness, also scratched will be Karcsi Csányi, János Vas, Bence Stipsicz and Kevin Wehrs. The captain for the game will be Tamás Pozsgai with the two alternates being Bálint Magosi and Csanád Erdély.
Tamás Farkas, goalie coach: We should expect a balanced game against Poland, we are two similar teams. Of course we want to win, but we want to concentrate on our own game. We will be keeping an eye on Poland as well since we will be facing them at the World Championships. It helps that the two teams know each other, we will not have any surprises when we face them.
