For the second week in a row a Dunaújváros player has been name the Player of the Week in the ERSTE Liga. This time it was Mátyás Odnoga who played very well as he produced three goals and one assist during two games in Transylvania.

Odnoga was born in Győr in 1995 and started playing hockey there in the local club, he eventually signed with Debrecen where he made his pro debut during the 2014-15 season. The following season he signed with Dunaújváros, in his first two season in Dunaujváros he respectively had 8 and then 6 points. This season has really taken off for him, in 19 games he has 11 goals and 6 assists.

Dunaujváros had two multi goal victories in Transylvania, what was the key to the success?
We came back from the first road trip without any points, this time we were concerted and worked on picking up as much as we could. Both games were really great matches, and luckily we came out on top in both of them.

What is the environment like within the team right now?
At the start of the season I thought that we would have some problems since not everyone speaks Hungarian or English very well, however we get along very well and there are no clicks within the team.

You are having an excellent season, can we say that you have grown up to the level of the league?
Yes that could be said, it also helps that I have the trust of the coaches right from the start of the season. If it is tied, late in the game I still get my regular shifts. It really helps me when I know the coach trusts me, this wasn’t also was like this in the past.

It looks that Arnold Silló, Péter Németh and yourself have settled into form a nice line.
Arni and myself start playing the preseason games together on one line, we have the chemistry and we always find each other on the ice.

You grew up in Győr, only a few of you have come from there but the ones that have, have built a stable career, how does it feel to represent this city?
It means a lot to me to be from Győr, I always correct people that I came from the Győr youth system and not from Dunaújváros. During the summers I workout a lot with István Bartalis and Bálint Horváth, who also happens to be my cousin.

WOuld you ever consider signing with Győr, once they have a professional team again?
If the circumstances are what I am looking for, then yes I would, but for now I am staying in Dunaújváros.
