In the final match play week of the MOL League Debrecen knew that they needed to leap over Brasov and move into fourth place in the standings if they wanted to have home ice advantage in the plays, and they had to do this all on the road. They picked up seven out of nine points and beat Brasov along the way. Forward Jared Brown had four goals and three assists and is the Play of the Week for the last week of the season.

Jared Brown comes from Kansas, USA, after playing two seasons in the NAHL and USHL he went on to the University of Northern Michigan where he was teammates with Hungarian national team forward Andrew Sarauer. After school he spent time in the CHL and ECHL as well as in Europe. In Rapid City he played with current teammate Jesse Schultz as well as Winston Day Chief. He has played in France and in Poland before coming to Debrecen during the season. Last season in Sanok Poland he was teammates with a number of current MOL League players such as Joni Tuominen of DVTK, Zsolt Azari and Jere Ölander of DAB. Brown started the season off with Orlik Opole in Poland where Jason Morgan was the head coach, once Morgan left a number of imports left the team and coincidentally ended up in the MOL League. Joining Brown and Morgan in Debrecen was Brad Smith, Garrett Clarke is in Brasov, Jon Booras went to MAC and Grant Toulmin ended up in DVTK:

Debrecen knew that to get home ice advantage in the playoffs you had to win out, what was the atmosphere like in the locker room this past week?
That atmosphere has been pretty good, our coach made it clear that he wanted fourth place and wanted to go into the playoffs playing our best hockey.

Debrecen has come on strong at the end of the regular season, how will you be able to take this momentum into the playoffs?
We had a good run at the end of the year, we added some very good players that have fit in very nicely with our team. We just wanna stay hot and keep working hard.

When you decided to leave Poland what was the biggest reason for joining Debrecen?
The biggest reason for leaving was getting to play for Jason Morgan again. He is very easy to play for and makes it easy to come to the rink every day. I also heard such good things about Hungary from Brad Smith.

What has been your impression of the MOL League?
I really have enjoyed the time I have spent in the MOL league. It is a very offensive league and I have noticed there are a lot very good players in the league.
