After a the two goal win over Ukraine that contained a highlight goal by István Bartalis the Hungarian national team was back on the ice as they started to prepare for the game against Austria. The Austrians have a strong roster that is mostly made up of players from EBEL, they have a solid goalie Bernhard Starkbaum with the defence being led by Dominique Heinrich with the forward unit having solid forwards such as Brian Lebler, Manuel Ganah, Fabio Hofer and Thomas Raffl.
The coaching staff decided to keep the lineup the same as the game against Ukraine with Miklós Rajna staying in between the pipes for the game against Austria.
Rich Chernomaz, Head Coach: They had a good game against Kazakhstan, you can’t take them lightly they have some good players and some young players. We need to be concentrated and focused to play 60 minutes against them. We can’t take penalties because that will stop our momentum and that gives the other team chances. We will be keeping the same lines for Austria, of course we will make some modifications as the game went on.
Csanád Erdély, Forward: There will be some surprises I think when we will face them as our team and the tactics have changed since the last time we faced them. We don’t really have to pay attention to the games as much since that is why we have the coaching staff that will watch the film and let us know what we need to pay attention to.
