HK Poprád-Fehérvár AV19 4-3

The first game of the Visegrád Cup was played on Tuesday as Extraliga club Poprád hosted EBEL squad Fehérvár AV19.  Miklós Rajna was in net for the Hungarian team with Mathieu Corbel between the pipes for Poprád.
The scoring started off in the opening minute of the game as Dániel Kóger tapped in an Olivier Latendresse pass from close range. The game was tied up within a minute as Patrik Svitana backhanded a shot under the cross bar. Poprád took their first lead of the game in the 6th minute when they scored on a two man advantage when a rebound put in for the goal. Fehérvár tied the game up at 2-2, with Latandresse setting up Kóger again, this time on the power play.

The penalties kept on coming for both sides in the second period. The home team went back up by one goal, this time Michaelis Vandes found the back of the net. Popárd took a two goal lead into the second intermission on a goal by König, this was the third goal during the game where Rajna was screaned.

The pace of the game picked up in the third period as both teams managed to create scoring chances. The two goal lead stayed until the 48th minute of the game when Áron Reisz set up Ferenc Kocsis to get Fehérvár back within a goal. The final minutes of the game brought a real battle however the score did not change as Poprád picked up the first win of the Visegrád Cup.
