History Written in Ice - 90th Anniversary of Hungarian Hockey

The Hungarian Ice Hockey federation is celebrating its 90th anniversary with a new brand image and weill as a sensational program during the upcoming year.

2017 has already been a busy year for hockey fans, besides the Hungarian Hockey Day, and the Night of Ice Rinks, the MOL League regular season and a number of international tournaments have come to an end. However this is only the start.

By the time spring will be here the most exciting part of the hockey season will be upon us, the MOL League playoffs will be followed up by the preparation for the World Championships in April. Hungary will be taking teams such as Sweden, Finland and Slovenia in the Tüskecsarnok. Twice during this same series of games, for the first time in history the Hungarian and Czech U25 teams will also be going up against each other in Budapest.

The exhibition games will be echoing the 90th anniversary image with all of our living legends, also remembering the ones who are not with us, without them Hungarian hockey would not be where its is now.

After the games have been played in the Tüskecsarnok with all the show and attractions, the men’s national team can show what they are capable of at the end of April during the Division 1/A World Championships in Kiev.

One week earlier the women’s national team will be competing in Graz at the Division 1/A World Championships.

After a short break the celebration will continue, the Hungarian Ice Hockey Federation hopes to host a one day hockey celebration in the László Papp Sports Arena with the day coming to a close with a Hungary-Austria match.
