The Disciplinary Committee investigated the MOL League game MOL 221 (DVTK Jegesmedvek – Ferencvarosi TC) where Balint MAGOSI player of DVTK Jegesmedvek was being penalized 2+2+10 minutes (SPEAR, MISC). The Committee made the following conclusions:
After 31 minutes of play, the player of DVTK Jegesmedvek stabbed the opponent player with his stick.

IIHF RULE 161 – SPEARING

DEFINITION: A player who stabs an opponent or attempts to stab an opponent with the end of the stick blade, whether or not the stick is being carried with one or both hands. Contact to the opponent is not necessary for the penalty to be assessed. A player who attempts to spear an opponent will be assessed a double minor and misconduct penalty. A player who spears an opponent will be assessed a major penalty and automatic game-misconduct penalty or match penalty. A player who injures or recklessly endangers an opponent by spearing will be assessed a match penalty.

According to the statement of the Disciplinary Committee, the player intentionally stabbed his opponent with his stick. The Committee considers that the movement is extremely unsportsmanlike and there was high risk of injury.

The Disciplinary Commitee suspends Balint MAGOSI, the DVTK Jegesmedvek player for 1 MOL League match.

The player will sit out his sentence at the next MOL League match.
