Disciplinary Committee no.2016-17/050 Decision

The Disciplinary Committee investigated the Hungarian Cup MK29 (DVTK Jegesmedvek – Dunaujvarosi Acelbikak) where after 62 minutes Keegan DANSEREAU (Dunaujvarosi Acelbikak) penalized was 25 minutes (MATCH). The Committee made the following conclusions:
The player of the Dunaujvarosi Acelbikak hit the opponent player with his stick in the 62nd minute of the match.

IIHF RULE 159 – SLASHING

DEFINITION: A player who swings his stick, with one hand or two, at any part of an opponent’s body or equipment. Contact to the opponent is not necessary for the penalty to be assessed. A player who slashes an opponent will be assessed at least a minor penalty. A player who injures or recklessly endangers an opponent by slashing will be assessed a major penalty and game-misconduct penalty or a match penalty.


The Disciplinary Comittee determined (based on referees’ reports) that the player of Dunaujvarosi Acelbikak reach in from the bench and hit the opponent player with his stick, who was skating toward his bench. This case is not visible on the video. There was no injury through that case.

The Disciplinary Committee do not use other sanctions.

Keegan DANSEREAU was imposed Match Penalty (MATCH) during the game.

IIHF rule book RULE 110 – DURATION OF PENALTIES/MATCH

A match penalty carries with it an automatic (and minimum) one-game suspension.

Keegan DANSEREAU will skip 1 match of his team. The player will spend down his sentence at the next MOL League match.
