During the November international break the Hungarian national team will be taking part in the Roland 4 Nations Tournament on home ice where Hungary will be hosting Japan, Italy and Italy.
Head coach Jarmo Tolvanen and his coaching staff have announced a roster of 3 goalies, 10 defencemen and 15 forwards. There will not be any roster cuts as the coaching staff will be rotating the lineup through the three games as there will be 2 goalies and 20 skaters dressing for each game. The roster has five Hungarian clubs represented with six players coming outside of Hungary.
There are 7 players who did not come up in the Hungarian youth system however there will be only 5 of these players dressing for each game. Nilan Nagy is only player who will be making his Hungarian national team debut when he steps on the ice, Nagy should be getting his Hungarian citizenship in the near future and will be eligible for the national team for the upcoming World Championships once he puts down the oath.
There will be 5 players missing from last years World Championship roster, Balázs Gőz is in the United States, Bence Szirányi and Dániel Kóger are out with injuries, Kalvin Sagert has decided to retire with Károl Csányi just played his first game after missing about a month with injury and switching clubs.
The training camp will open on Wednesday on November 8th with two practices that will be 60 minutes each. On Thursday the team will be put through a longer 90 minute practice with a team building in the afternoon. Hungary will open the tournament against Poland at 19:00 on Friday with the game on Saturday also being at 19:00 against Italy. The tournament closes out on Sunday at 18:00 against Japan.
